Strategy and Performance Management Division Strategic Planning BranchProvides leadership to the health system in the areas of strategic policy development and planning as well as capital asset planning. Capital Asset Planning UnitOversees the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, policies, procedures, standards, and processes related to health system capital assets (facilities and equipment). Directs and manages system-wide capital planning, including working with health regions and the ministry in needs identification, development of concepts in functional programming, and facility design. Manages development and implementation of provincial capital equipment strategy, including capital prioritization and budget development, equipment inventory, acquisition, disposal and decommissioning. Health System Policy and Planning UnitProvides leadership to strategic planning processes for the health sector, including development of the annual Strategic and Operational Directions for the Health Sector (SOD), the health system strategic framework and the multi-year health system strategic plan. Provides Ministry support to Government of Saskatchewan's annual planning and budgeting cycle through environmental scanning of the health sector, development of the Ministry Plan, and preparation and submission of the mid-year progress report on key Ministry initiatives. Develops and leads implementation of system-wide policies focusing on improving quality of care and the patient experience (e.g. Shared Decision-Making Framework, the Patient- and Family-Centred Care Framework, the Health Ombudsman, the Voice of Customer Framework, the Patient Toolkits, etc.). In support of this, leads research synthesis that provides inputs and analysis on potential policies for the health system.
See: Strategy, Governance and Policy Support UnitProvides leadership in the development and coordination of the overall strategic governance legislative/regulatory and policy and funding in support of the government's Patient First strategy. Also manages the development, coordination, and maintenance of policies and processes in support of The Regional Health Services Act and The Cancer Agency Act, and develops materials to define and support the governance relationship with regional health authorities. In support of these activities, manages, leads, directs and coordinates research, policy analysis and the development of options for action relating to major health issues.
