Mental Health Services Saskatchewan Hospital North BattlefordConstruction will take place on the grounds of the current hospital. A new psychiatric hospital will be built in North Battleford to replace the aging Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford building. The province is providing $8 million immediately so Prairie North Health Region can begin work on detailed planning. Once those plans receive final government approval, tendering and construction will follow. The new facility will house 188 patients for rehabilitation, forensic appraisal and monitoring. The announcement was made by Premier Brad Wall on August 18, 2011.
